I was born into music.
I grew up in a home where singing was just part of life. I started performing at the age of five — supported by my mom and a family who always believed in my voice. I kept going all the way through high school, singing at home, in contests, at school — it was always there. Music wasn’t just sound — it was my first language.
But over time, fear and doubt started to creep in. I stopped singing.
I pulled back. For a while, I stayed quiet. Now, I’m finding my way back to it. Writing, recording, and shaping a sound that feels honest and instinctive has become my way of reconnecting — with myself, my story, and others who’ve ever felt the same.
I’m Filipino, with Portuguese and Spanish roots, and that mix shapes how I see and feel the world — and how I create. I grew up singing along to Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and all the big 90s ballads — music that was all about tone, feeling, and vocal storytelling. That’s where I learned to sing — by feeling everything.
I’m a vocalist, musician, designer, songwriter, and all-around creative whose sound blends emotional depth with influences from soulful-R&B, organic pop, indie, and trap-pop. My music leans toward softness and tone-driven delivery, blending vulnerability with clarity, nostalgia, and a little bit of edge. My genre-blending sound reflects a deep connection to life’s beauty and pain — and I hope to become a voice in emotionally resonant, boundary-pushing music.
“Lienne Roq” is a tribute to both a cherished nickname and my mom’s maiden name, Roque — a name passed down from my grandfather. It holds the warmth of my family and the love that shaped me. It represents my journey from silence to self-expression — and honors the ones who helped me find my voice.
Through soulful melodies and honest lyrics, I hope to create music that holds space for healing, reflection, and connection — something real, something felt, something true.
